George Fouche Visits Us!

We were lucky enough to have George visit Hall Road Academy today.

He did a whole school assembly, then did a workshop with the Year 6’s.

We are going to be doing lots more work on what we aspire to.

Red Eye Song!

Four children from Hall Road Academy worked hard over the summer, practising with a local artist 'Red Eye' to produce this amazing track. They performed at Humber Sesh and the Freedom Festival.

They met Red Eye at a workshop day at Hall Road at the end of the Summer term.

Beats Bus

We were so lucky to have the 'Beats Bus' at school this week! We joined in with some breakdancing lessons and mixed music using real DJ decks! Some lucky Year Four even got the chance to try out their graffitiing skills by painting a huge picture of ACE on a wall! What an amazing few days!

Famous Poet!

Some lucky LKS2 children had the chance to meet a famous poet this week. They wrote some amazing poems and learnt some incredible magic tricks too! Nick Toczek signed our books and made us laugh all day with his amazing jokes and poems. What a brilliant day!

James Reckitt Hull Chidren's Book Awards!

Some Year Six children attended the James Reckitt Hull Chidren's Book Awards today! They had to read five challenging books before today's event and discuss the books with pupils from 41 other primary schools. The children voted for their favourite book and waited for the winner to be announced! This year's winner was...Phil Earle with The War Next Door! Well done, Phil! A brilliant day and a brilliant result for the Hull-born author in the City of Culture Year!

Phil Earle Visit

The children in years 5 and 6 had a very special visitor today. Phil Earle, a local author, visited Hall Road to tell us about life as an author. He also told us about his new book which has been nominated for the James Reckitt Children's Book Award this year. We can't wait to see if he wins!
